Commercial Renovations

Office, retail and mixed-use commercial renovations, run with the same fixed-quote, single-point-of-contact approach as our residential work.

Commercial Renovations by GML Construction in North London

Commercial renovation without the usual coordination headaches

Commercial renovations often involve more stakeholders than residential ones — landlords, letting agents, sometimes multiple tenants in a mixed-use building. We manage this coordination directly rather than leave it for you to chase between trades.

Because we run all trades in-house, a commercial renovation gets the same single-site-manager accountability as any residential project — one person responsible for the whole programme, not a different subcontractor for each stage.

What's included

  • Office and workspace renovation
  • Retail unit renovation and refurbishment
  • Mixed-use building renovation (commercial ground floor, residential above)
  • Structural alterations for change of use
  • Full internal refit including electrics, plumbing and finishes

Mixed-use and period commercial buildings

A lot of our commercial work is in older buildings — Victorian and Edwardian properties with retail or office space below and residential above — which brings the same period-property considerations we handle on residential jobs, plus commercial building regulations on top.

Common questions

Do you handle change-of-use projects?

Yes — we can advise on and carry out the structural and building-regulations work involved, though change of use itself requires separate planning consent which we can point you toward the right advice for.

Can you renovate while the ground floor stays occupied?

In many cases yes, depending on the scope — we'll plan sequencing to minimise disruption to occupied parts of a mixed-use building wherever the project allows it.

Do you work with landlords and letting agents directly?

Yes, we're used to coordinating directly with landlords, agents and sometimes multiple tenants on commercial projects, keeping one clear line of communication throughout.
