GML Construction has never tried to be everywhere. We've spent two decades getting very good at building in Hampstead, Highgate, Camden and the surrounding period-property streets of North London.
GML Construction was founded in 2003 by a team of tradespeople who were tired of watching good jobs get ruined by too many subcontractors and too little accountability. The idea was simple: keep the trades in-house, keep the same people on a job from quote to completion, and never take on more work than we can actually stand behind.
Two decades later, that's still exactly how we operate. We haven't expanded into a franchise or scaled into a call-centre operation — we've stayed a genuinely local, family-run business that happens to have built up serious depth across twelve trades.
Most of our work today comes from referrals and repeat clients across Hampstead, Highgate and Central London — homeowners who've either used us before, or heard about us from someone who has.

Founded in North London, starting with roofing and general refurbishment work.
Expanded in-house to cover electrical, plumbing and structural works.
Began specialising in period-property extensions and loft conversions.
Twenty years trading, still family-run, still based in North London.
Fixed quotes in writing before work starts. If something changes on site, we tell you and agree it before it happens — not after it's on the invoice.
We'd rather fix the underlying problem than paper over it. It's usually the same cost in the long run and always the right call for the property.
Most of what we work on is older than any of us. We plan around period features and structural quirks, not against them.
Every job is run by the same site manager from first quote to final handover, backed by our own electricians, plumbers, roofers and joiners — not a rotating cast of subcontractors we've never met before. That's the whole reason GML has kept the trust of the same North London streets for twenty years.
