Electrical Works

Rewires, consumer unit upgrades and certified electrical work, tested and signed off to current UK wiring regulations on every job.

Electrical Works by GML Construction in North London

Electrical work that's certified, not just done

Every electrical job we complete is tested and certified to current UK wiring regulations, with the paperwork provided at completion — not just left to you to chase up. This matters both for safety and because it's often required for insurance and when selling the property.

Many older properties across Hampstead and Highgate still have partial or full original wiring from decades ago, which typically needs addressing during any significant renovation rather than left in place behind new plaster.

What's included

  • Full and partial house rewiring
  • Consumer unit (fuse box) upgrades to current standards
  • Socket, switch and lighting circuit installation
  • PAT testing and Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR)
  • Outdoor and garden electrics, including lighting and power

Rewiring during a wider renovation

If you're already renovating, it's almost always more cost-effective to rewire while walls are open than to retrofit later. We'll flag this at the quote stage if your property's existing wiring looks like it needs attention.

Common questions

How do I know if my house needs rewiring?

Signs include an old fuse box (not a modern consumer unit), frequent tripped circuits, or wiring that predates the 1980s. An EICR assessment gives a definitive answer — we can arrange this as a first step.

How long does a full rewire take?

A full house rewire typically takes 1–2 weeks depending on property size, and is usually done alongside other renovation work since it involves opening up walls and floors.

Do you provide certification after electrical work?

Yes — every job is certified to current regulations, and we provide the relevant paperwork (EIC or EICR) at completion as standard, not as an extra.
